Kansas City Area Development Council
During my time with the No. 1 ranked economic development group in the country, I collaborated with the marketing team to promote Kansas City as a premier business and lifestyle destination. I honed my skills in brand communications, social media planning, copywriting, and editorial writing, contributing to various campaigns and initiatives. Additionally, I worked closely with the talent acquisition team, developing and distributing weekly emails and text messages to streamline communication with interns across Kansas City. I also provided editorial assistance for KCADC’s annual publication, KC Options magazine, and managed social media across several different channels, enhancing the organization's outreach.
I was responsible for drafting, building, and designing e-communications using the mass email platform, Click Dimensions. In addition to writing copy, I worked within Click Dimensions to design and assemble emails, ensuring they were visually compelling and aligned with our brand’s messaging. Depending on the targeted list, these emails were sent to anywhere between 300 and 700 recipients, helping to strengthen communication with key stakeholders.
Read the blog post I wrote for TeamKC, the talent acquisition initiative within KCADC. This post summarizes insights from a roundtable discussion I attended during my internship. The roundtable featured industry leaders discussing key trends and challenges in the field. I carefully captured their perspectives and condensed the conversation into an engaging recap that highlighted the main takeaways.
At the end of Intern Season, I came up with the idea to create a themed outreach campaign inspired by Spotify’s popular 'Wrapped' series. I collaborated with our graphic designer to bring the concept to life, developing a cohesive visual theme that included an Instagram post, a story series, and graphics for a mass email. This campaign was sent out to interns across the greater Kansas City area, creating a memorable and engaging wrap-up for the season.
